Our Mission

“Delivering that which has already been declared to be so!" Psalms 107:2

Summary of Our Beliefs

Stone Valley Church is a non-denominational church. We’re a body of believers, spirit filled, diverse, generous, we rely on scripture and scripture alone as our absolute authority. We believe the Bible should be the authority that dictates teaching, worship, and other aspects of church life.

We believe the Bible is the revelation of God’s word and is without error, needing no additions or corrections. It is the absolute authority and objective truth for mankind. We believe that God’s unchanging message is relevant and life changing. It is satisfying and fulfilling, and it is living and active.

creation

We believe that in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. We believe man was created in the image of God.

the fall of man

Through Adam’s sin, we have all inherited sinful nature. We believe the Ten Commandments are God’s moral law which we have all broken, earning God’s wrath.

redemption in christ

With amazing grace, love, and mercy, we believe God provided a savior for mankind in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ came to earth through the virgin birth as the Messiah, the Savior, God in the flesh - fully God and fully man. He suffered and died on the cross to satisfy God’s wrath and fulfill the requirements of God’s law as the Holy sacrificial lamb; as the only one not inheriting Adam’s sin, thus the only one capable of living a sinless life. His gift of sacrifice removed the punishment of our sins. We’ve all broken God’s laws, and Jesus paid our fine so that we could be set free! Hallelujah!

We believe Jesus was resurrected on the 3rd day, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of almighty God. He has defeated death, hell, and the grave.

repentance

We believe those who sincerely repent and turn from their sins, accept the gift of forgiveness Jesus offers us, and trust in Jesus Christ (and not their own “goodness”) as their savior will be granted everlasting life as a gift from God - not by the works of man.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV)

Repentance is a turn from living to please one’s selfish desires and sin. It changes the way we feel and act about sin, self and God. Repentance is a total change of heart, mind, attitude, emotions, will, actions, and lifestyle flowing from the inner turmoil and sorrow from the conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit.

the body of christ

We believe the the church is the body of Christ in the earth, all its members acting together to carry out His will. Therefore, we must not forsake the gathering of ourselves together, stirring up love and good works. (Hebrews 10:25)

the return of jesus christ

We believe Jesus will personally return one day. Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that He is the Lord. He will return in power and great glory, and His everlasting kingdom will be established.

We believe there will one day be a new heaven and a new earth, for the former things will have passed away. (Revelation 21:1)

helping those in need

We believe that the Scriptures are clear concerning helping those in need. We are commanded to do good to all people as we have opportunity, with a special emphasis upon caring for those who profess to be fellow Christians, especially those within the fellowship of believers. This is true as an organization as well as for the individual. Therefore, in accordance with the biblical commands, as a fundamental aspect of the practice of our faith, we will share of our material goods with those in need and will minister to them to the best of our abilities, whatever the need.
